15th Mission Conference & 1st Provisional Annual Conference Meeting





Friday's conference briefing: This session was officially opened at 7 pm on the 16th (Friday), with the choir. At the opening ceremony, Reverend Joel Siew also the founding pastor shared his encouragements. Afterwards, Bishop Kwang ministered the Holy Communion for us. At the opening ceremony, it is formally announced that we are now provisional annual conference of the Chinese Methodist Church in New Zealand. Nearly a hundred people attended the meeting that night.
Saturday Conference Briefing: In the morning session on Saturday, we elected the first president Rev. Adrian King (Ph.D.) and Dr. King Yee Yong as the lay leader of the conference. The meeting also elected the chairperson and leaders of the ministerial boards and commissions. The meeting discussed and approved the 2017 annual report and outlook of various ministerial boards and churches, and also discussed the ministry of local church planting and overseas missionary church planting. During the meeting, we also adopted and accepted the “Book of Discipline” which had taken two years to edit to be in line with the situation in New Zealand.
Sunday Conference Briefing: During the closing ceremony on Sunday, the Bishop James Kwang gave the message of encouragement, presided over the ordination ceremony of two pastors, namely, Pastor Henry Wong (Eldership) and Pastor Hammond Ho (Deaconship). The Council is particularly grateful to the Council of Chinese Methodist Church of Australia for its support, assistance and resource sharing over the many years. This session of the Conference was formally announced closed by the President of the provisional conference at noon on the 18th (Sunday) worship.
Auckland Chinese Methodist Church 25th Anniversary Thanksgiving Celebration
Thanks be to the Lord, for his wonderful guidance, from 1993 to 2018, ACMC now can joyfully celebrate 25 years of hard work. ACMC held many celebrations activities in conjunction with the establishment of the provisional annual conference of Chinese Methodist Church in New Zealand. On March 11th (Sunday), ACMC held a 25-year anniversary thanksgiving service. In particular, Reverend Joel Siew, the advisory pastor preach the message of the Lord's Day and spoke in several evangelical meetings. The pastor and co-workers of ACMC were united, meticulous in their organization, dedicate and hosted graciously to ensure the successful completion of the conference meetings from March 16 to 18, and with great love presented a great gift for the 25th anniversary celebrations. This Council again expresses deepest thanks! On March 18th, ACMC held the twenty-fifth anniversary dinner in the restaurant of XiYunLai to acknowledge God’s grace with gratitude. All the conference delegates were invited, in addition to the 200 people attending the dinner. During the banquet, various ACMC fellowships and groups also presented exciting entertainments.
