Worship and Music Ministry

“When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up.” 1 Corinthians 14:26 ESV

Greetings Brothers & Sisters in Christ, I am so glad to have the opportunity to share with you about one of the ministries in our church, the Music & Wor-ship Ministry! One of our ministry’s special focuses is on the Worship Service.

So, what is the Worship Service? It is that special time on the Sunday, where we as a family of faith come together – dedicating that time to worship our very real, awesome, holy and living God together! We worship Him through the reading of Scripture, singing of songs and hymns, praying as one church, reciting creeds to remind ourselves and each other of the gospel truths we trust in; observing holy sacraments together; and receiving God’s word faith-fully preached to us by our pastor! The focus is on God, His Glory, His great-ness and His worthiness of our worship, that we together with our church family may be strengthened and encouraged for our walk with God in the other 6 days of the week - that we may be His light and salt in our workplaces, schools and anywhere else!

Music & Worship Ministry’s key focus, week to week, is centred around sup-porting and facilitating this Worship Service. It involves many brothers and sisters in Christ using the different skills and gifts they have been given by God, serving in many different ways, such as liturgist, worship leader, vocalists, pianists, drummers, guitarists, instrumentalists, choir members, choir conductors, ushers, power pointers, sound tech, all playing a part with our pastors to help our congregation worship God in Spirit and in Truth.

As we seek to grow in faithful serving wherever God has placed us, let us be reminded of the importance of prayer. To Pray to Connect, Equip to Serve as our church theme suggests. As we serve together, let us not forget to be prayerful, surrendering ourselves, our efforts and our serving into God’s hands, seeking that the Holy Spirit guide us and that God may use us as instruments for His Glory, “for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure” (Phil 2:13, ESV)

Come and talk to me in person if you are interested to know more about serving in this ministry!

Sister in Christ,
